revised to make meaning clearer:

terezi isn’t 100% blind: she sees through smells/tastes of colours. a fantasy synesthesia, if you will. while she is literally blind in the sense that her eyes cannot see, she is not blind in the sense that she doesn’t have a type of vision. the world around her is comprised of smells and tastes that appear to be translated into her brain as images. this gives her a sense of vision, but she is not literally seeing with her eyes as a person with blurred vision would.

basically, her nose has become her eyes and by saying she’s not blind, i am referring to the fact that she is not engulfed in darkness, as many people take it to mean.

it was taught to her through her lusus—a dragon who also senses the world the same way.

it had a telepathic link with terezi—that’s how vriska was able to use her lusus to call her out into the forest and blind her in the first place it just got stronger after terezi woke up on prospit, and her lusus then taught terezi how to ‘see’ again using her senses. this is why terezi said she should ‘thank vriska for blinding her’

While she slept in her egg, she would communicate with you in your sleep. After your accident, she would use your dreams to teach you to detect the world around you without vision.

her vision is blurred at worst, and almost-perfect at best as licking the monitor gives her a crystal-clear view. it fluxuates as shes breathes in and out!

terezi can basically see everything, and can pick out people’s facial features even when she’s above them looking down. her range also seems to be pretty long too, seeing as in cascade karkat only had to move her arm slightly when she was pointing out into space. terezi also writes perfectly and clearly—obviously we know she is fully capable of typing too.

look at her finger, and not her whole arm. she is only incorrect by inches. she is not facing the wrong way??? considering how far away that meteor is, terezi is probably pointing to it closer than i could—she actually has better ‘vision’ than i do and i’m short-sighted… pls don’t misrepresent her :(

the fandom perception of her ‘facing the wrong way’ is grossly incorrect to her character and her capabilities of overcoming her disability.
